III VCF Academy World Cup opening ceremony held

Members of the teams participating in the III VCF Academy World Cup experienced the opening ceremony, on Thursday at the Antonio Puchades. Teams from Canada, the USA, Jordan, the Netherlands, Belgium, Greece, Cyprus and a combination of Escoles VCF all undertook a parade with their respective flags.

Valencia CF first team player Hugo Guillamón, who trained at the VCF Academy, greeted all the participants and advised them as ambassador of the III VCF Academy World Cup.

“I would tell them to enjoy these tournaments, which are very special, and sharing this time with their friends and teammates. At these ages, the important thing is to have a good time and to enjoy a very nice weekend here in Valencia,” said the midfielder.

“I remember that, when I was little, these tournaments were always exciting, because of the games, because it was time with my teammates and because you always make new friends amongst opposition players. I hope they enjoy this opportunity at the III VCF Academy World Cup."

Former players and current ambassadors, Vicente Rodríguez and Miguel Ángel Bossio, were also present at the event.

“I would tell the players the same thing as I tell my son: Enjoy yourself and work hard. You need to make sacrifices, but also have a good time with your teammates. 'Enjoying and learning' is how I would sum it up,” Vicente highlighted.

Bossio added that “You are all welcome in the Valencia CF family. I hope you enjoy being part of this great family that is Valencia CF,” he concluded.

TM Grupo Inmobiliario, main partner of Valencia CF, raffled off a stay for 6 people in one of their establishments, with the winner one of the participants from the VCF Academy in Chicago.

 The tournament itself will take place from Friday to Sunday at the Ciudad Deportiva, with the grand final on Sunday at 12:30pm
